Babies start to acquire language from the moment they are born. This process continues until the age of 6. Experts state that the 0-6 age range is important for language acquisition in children. In this process, they learn language especially through words heard from the family and the environment.




From the moment they are born, babies hear the sounds around them and try to understand them. The way they respond to this varies according to their development.




From the age of 1, children enter the single word period. Usually the first meaningful conversations consist of single words such as grandpa, mama, baba.





From the 18th month onwards, they start to use two-word words. In this process, words such as "Mom come, car go, dad open" make sense even if they cannot be connected effectively.

Between the ages of 0-3, children's language is shaped according to their environment. For example, if both Turkish and English are used in the family, the child learns both languages.



When children reach the age of 2-3, they start to form meaningful sentences of 3-4 words. From the age of 3, vocabulary is expected to develop along with socialization. They can express themselves and express their feelings and thoughts.



After the age of 5, the language he/she uses becomes like adult language. They can use approximately 2000 words, and by the age of 8-9 they start to use an average of 3000 words.
