Natural numbers

Natural numbers are numbers that go from 0 to infinity. In mathematics, the set of natural numbers is represented by Natural Numbers. The name natural numbers comes from the idea that these numbers are the numbers we see and know in nature. The set of natural numbers is the set of "0" and all positive numbers. Natural numbers

They do not take negative values. In some sources, "0" is not taken as a natural number. It is still a matter of debate whether zero can be taken as a natural number in mathematics, but if algebraic constructions are desired, it may be advantageous to take the number "0" as a natural number. In other branches of mathematics, the set of natural numbers is taken in the same way in which case the problem can be expressed more easily.

FINDING THE NUMBER OF NUMBERS BETWEEN TWO NATURAL NUMBERS

The number of numbers between two natural numbers is found by the formula:

Formula: -1

EXAMPLE 1: How many natural numbers are there between 5 and 15?

SOLUTION: There are 15-5=10 10-1=9 natural numbers

EXAMPLE 2: How many natural numbers are there between 305 and 601?

SOLUTION: There are 601-305= 296 296-1=295 natural numbers.

EXAMPLE 3: How many natural numbers are there between 447 and 567?

SOLUTION: There are 567-447=120 120-1=119 natural numbers.

Rules

Every natural number:

- Greater than the number to the left,

- It is less than the number to the right.

Ordering Natural Numbers

The number with a larger number of digits than the other is greater than the other.

FINDING THE NUMBER OF NUMBERS BETWEEN TWO NATURAL NUMBERS

The number of numbers between two natural numbers is found by the formula:

(a-b)-1 = number between

EXAMPLE 1: How many natural numbers are there between 5 and 15?

SOLUTION: There are 15-5=10 10-1=9 natural numbers

EXAMPLE 2: How many natural numbers are there between 305 and 601?

SOLUTION: There are 601-305= 296 296-1=295 natural numbers.

EXAMPLE 3: How many natural numbers are there between 447 and 567?

SOLUTION: There are 567-447=120 120-1=119 natural numbers.

DOUBLE NATURAL NUMBERS

Natural numbers with 0,2,4,6,8 in the ones place are called even natural numbers.

SINGLE NATURAL NUMBERS

Natural numbers with one of the digits 1,3,5,7,9 in the ones place are called odd natural numbers.

HOW MANY ODD NATURAL NUMBERS ARE THERE BETWEEN TWO ONE NATURAL NUMBERS?

EXAMPLE: How many odd natural numbers are there between 7 and 29 odd natural numbers?

Warning

One half of the difference between the two numbers is taken minus one.

(Large number – Small number) / 2 -1

SOLUTION :

29 – 7 = 22 22 : 2 = 11

11 – 1 = 10

HOW MANY EVEN NATURAL NUMBERS ARE THERE BETWEEN TWO EVEN NATURAL NUMBERS?

EXAMPLE: How many natural numbers are there between the natural numbers 8 and 40?

Warning

One half of the difference between two numbers is taken minus one.

Big number – Small number / 2

SOLUTION: 40 – 8 = 32 32 : 2 = 16
