Benannt nach Ebenezer Scrooge aus dem Roman A Christmas Carol, ist Scrooge ein wohlhabender schottischer Wirtschaftsmagnat und -magnat. In seinen ersten Auftritten zeichnete er sich als gieriger Geizhals und Antiheld aus (wie Charles Dickens ursprünglicher Scrooge war), aber in späteren Comics und Zeichentrickfilmen und in der heutigen Zeit wird er häufiger als gemeinnütziger und sparsamer Held, Abenteurer, Entdecker dargestellt und Philanthrop.

Named for Ebenezer Scrooge from the novel A Christmas Carol, Scrooge is a wealthy Scottish business magnate and magnate. In his first appearances, he distinguished himself as a greedy miser and antihero (as was Charles Dickens original Scrooge), but in later comics and cartoons and nowadays he is more often portrayed as a philanthropic and frugal hero, adventurer, explorer and philanthropist.
